More Money from Microsoft

The first indication that there may be something amiss here is that our writer alleges that Microsoft is giving away money. It’s all downhill from there.

It all sounds perfectly reasonable, doesn’t it? Still in all, we had better check it more closely. It might be a Fraud.

It would seem the address was cut and pasted from here, where it is shown as an example of an incorrectly formatted address. The organization name doesn’t hold up very well under Google’s watchful eye.

You might suppose that Microsoft could have given Mr. Jones an email address rather than forcing him to go here for one. We have been unable to find the “Wait, its safe, this message will authomatically move to your inbox!” button or link in our email program. It’s probably just as well. Please Microsoft, stop interfering with the web.

When they say that the funds are cash, credited to a valid cashiers check, it makes us wonder what the other options might be? Would they be bottle caps, credited to a forged cashier’s check? What?

It sounds like it’s a very exclusive lottery, doesn’t it?

Yahoo? Where did Yahoo come from?

These sound like noble goals. Would that they were true.

We especially liked number eleven. That adds a great deal of authenticity.

It took them a while to get around to the secrecy clause. We were beginning to think that they were unfamiliar with the proper elements of style for scam emails.

As far as receiving similar letters goes, we receive them all the time. As a matter of fact we have been warned about letters like this as well.

Microsoft shall not be held responsible for any loss of fund arising from the
above mentioned.

Microsoft, we are certain, is not even aware of their lottery, so there’s no reason to assume that they would accept liability for anything contained herein.
