On behalf of the Trustees and Executor of the estate of Late Eng.Gregory Rims. I once again try to notify you as my earlier letter was returned undelivered. This is extraordinary news indeed. Still, things are not always as they seem.
Could this be a Fraud, let’s take a look, shall we?

Our dear barrister seems to be associated with chamber.org . Seems unlikely.

An astonishing number of people seem to be able to send us email without knowing our name.

Direct and to the point, we suppose, but we are not deaf.

THE WILL HAS BEEN EXECUTED

We weren’t aware that it had been tried and convicted.

A great variety of things exist on Bedford Row, Alan Organ & Associates are not among them, unfortunately.

Attention:Beneficiary,

A rather brusque salutation, we would expect more from a barrister bearing millions.

On behalf of the Trustees and Executor of the estate of Late Eng.Gregory Rims. I once again try to notify you as my earlier letter was returned undelivered. I hereby attempt to reach you again by this same email address on the WILL. I wish to notify you that late Gregory Rims made you a beneficiary in his WILL. He left the sum of Thirty Million Dollars ($30,000.000.00 US Dollars) to you in the Codicil and last testament to his WILL.

We believe we are listening to another non-native speaker, as our writer begins with a phrase. We are not surprised that his earlier letter was returned, as he seems not to know who we are. We might assume that if our email address was actually specified in the will, that our name may have been specified as well. Since our endowment was enclosed in a codicil, we must assume that he was overwhelmed by our presence, when last we met.

This may sound strange and unbelievable to you, but it is real and true. Being a widely traveled man, he said he met you sometime in past or simply you were nominated to him by one of his numerous friends abroad who wished you good, I am not too sure again.

“Strange and unbelievable”, the same thought had occurred to us, but now that we has his assurance, we are more at ease. Extraordinary, we impressed him sufficiently to receive a Thirty million dollar endowment, but not so strongly that he could remember where we allegedly met.

Gregory Rims until his death was a member of the Helicopter Society and the Institute of Electronic & Electrical Engineers and a German property magnate. He was a very dedicated Christian who loved to give out aids to the poor, hungry and needy. His great philanthropy earned him numerous awards during his life time. Late Gregory Rims died on the 13th day of December,2008 at the age of 80 years, and his WILL is now ready for execution after 3 years and thorough investigations.

Whilst it is nice that Mr. Rims is leaving us a fortune, if we desire to know his life history, we can research that on our own. Unfortunately, little seems known about our benefactor, aside from several references to his previous death in 2004. We doubt that there has been much due diligence undertaken. We are somewhat disturbed by his desire to give AIDS to the needy, certainly they have enough difficulties without the additional gift of extremely poor health.

According to him, this money is to support your humanitarian/medical activities and to help the poor and the needy in our society. Please if I reach you as I am hopeful, endeavor to get back to me as soon as possible to enable me conclude my job. I hope to hear from you in no distant time.

We are willing to accept unsolicited funds from strangers, we are disinclined to accept instructions. If the Late Eng. Gregory Rims had philanthropic leanings, he should have exercised them while he was still alive. We do find the phrase “no distant time” poetic, if not unclear. We have spoken to barristers in the past, they tend to be more articulate than our correspondent.

I await your prompt response and please keep this very discrete and to yourself until the transfer of the funds to you is finalized.

We shall endeavour to be discreet regarding this discrete communication, however you may want to find a way to pass the time whilst you wait.

Yours in Service,

Barrister Alan Organ.

We would be delighted to communicate further with Dear Barrister Alan Organ regarding the Last Will and Testament of the Late Eng. Gregory Rims of the Helicopter Society, however it is time for us to supervise the staff as they prepare to gold plate the cat.

Should you hear from Barrister Organ or any of associates, delete the correspondence with confidence, for this is a Fraud.

Please, return tomorrow as we examine “A Collection of Amusing Short Notes” here at HowToSpotAFraud.com.

That is all.
